Virtual Reality

EXPERIENCE Festival is celebrating its fourth edition this year. it’s the first festival entirely dedicated to immersive productions in virtual reality in Brussels and Belgium.
The fourth edition of Experience takes place during the BRIFF from june 26th to the 29th at UGC De Brouckère and this year’s novelty at Cinema Palace.
Festival-goers will discover experiences with a virtual reality headset.

During sessions of 1 hour each the festival-goers will discover an exclusive programming of immersive productions. A conference is organized on the first day of the festival at the Palace. It will bring together a panel of professionals to discuss the issues and the future of this technology. The production and broadcasting for this type of content will also be a topic during the conference.
Through different proposals (animation, documentaries…), EXPERIENCE will offer the public the opportunity to experiment this new media.

On the program this fourth edition:

Shennong is a Chinese animated film directed by Mi Li and Wang Zheng. We will follow our prehistoric hero in his initiatory quest and the exploration of his
environment.

The atomic tree is a documentary film directed by Adam Loften and Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee.
We will be transported to a Buddhist temple in Japan. We discover the story of a secular bonsai that survived the atomic explosion of Hiroshima.

Conscious Existence is a spiritual journey in our consciousness through computer graphics.
This beautiful film was directed by Marc Zimmermann and gained a Lumiere award in 2018

Hommage Notre Dame. This film was shot a few weeks before the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris on april 15, 2019.
It was shot with a drone and will allow you to have an exceptional point of view of this magnificent building of Gothic art.

I saw the future. This animated film was directed by François Vautier, based on a BBC archive from the 60s.
